The purpose of the meeting is to consider a proposed resolution to provide limited additional EMT service through COVAC on a town-wide basis and any other business that may come before the Town Board at that time.

The NYS DOT has advised that the Willow Avenue Bridge will be closed starting Monday, March 9th for removal and replacement. Detours while the closure continues will be marked along the routes. The project will take several months to complete and reopen. Night work is planned for the week of March 9th for the demolition of the bridge.

The Highway and Sanitation Departments will be closed for the Holiday, Monday, February 17, 2020. There will be no trash pickup that day, town wide. District 2 will only have one trash pickup that week on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Monday’s co-mingling/recycling will have to be held until the following week, Monday, February 24, 2020.

NOTICE: CHANGE IN TOWN RECYCLING REQUIREMENTS
Effective immediately recyclables can no longer be placed in plastic bags for pickup. Moving forward recycling should be collected in a can that is not larger than 32 gallons, which is the Town’s code size restriction for both solid waste and recycled materials. Recyclables placed in cardboard boxes continue to be acceptable.
The reason for the change: The facility that the Town of Cornwall utilizes to dispose of collected recyclables requires us to reduce the amount of materials in each load that are classified as unrecyclable; the thin film plastics such as garbage bags and shopping bags frequently used by residents to place their recyclables curbside are no longer acceptable at the facility.
