29 December Christmas Tree Disposal / Pick up 2024 December 29, 2023 By Denise Provnick General 0 Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024 the town will be picking up live Christmas trees. No artificial trees will be taken. The tree should be free of ornaments, lights and not placed in a plastic bag. Please have them out to the curb in the area of your trash. Yard waste collection will not resume until Wed. April 3, 2024. Thank you, Happy New Year! Related Articles 4th of July Parking Restrictions There will be NO PARKING from 08:00- 11:00pm on the following streets: Main Street from Hudson Street to Academy Avenue Hudson Street from Main Street to First Street North Street South Street Center Street Quaker Avenue from Elm to the Traffic Circle Hasbrouck from the Traffic Circle to Clinton Street Parking will be restricted to one side of the street on the following streets: McCann No parking on the West side of street Tamarra No parking on the West side of street Hazen Street No parking on the West side of street Union Street from Main to Clinton No parking on the West side of street Broadway No Parking on the West side of the Street Clinton Street No Parking on the South side Grand Street No Parking on the South Side The following restrictions will also be in place: **Main Street from the Circle to Willow No Parking either side from 3:00-6:30pm **Main Street from Willow to South Street No parking either side from 3:00-11:00pm ** These are the two areas of biggest concern as parking is parking is permitted on Main Street from the Traffic Circle to South Street up until 3:00PM then vehicles have to be removed in preparation for the parade. After the parade, vehicles may park on Main Street from the Traffic Circle to Willow Avenue but there is NO PARKING on Main Street from Willow Ave to South Street for the remainder of the night due to the large influx of pedestrian traffic Parking is permitted at the Cornwall Middle School, The Cornwall Elementary School at Lee Road and any street that doesn’t have any posted restrictions Holiday Pickup Schedule for Christmas and New Year's Day Holiday Pickup Schedule for Christmas and New Year's Day Holiday Pickup Schedule Trash & Recycling will be picked up on Friday, 12/23/22 as normally scheduled. The Highway and Sanitation Departments will be closed on Monday, 12/26/22 and Monday, 1/2/23. There will be NO trash or recycling pickup on these days. District 2 will only have one trash pickup on Thursday, 12/29/22 and Thursday, 1/5/23 Recycling for District 1 who normally have recycling pickup on Mondays, will have a recycling pickup on both Tuesday, 12/27/22 and Tuesday, 1/03/23. District 1 has no change in trash pickup, it will be as normally scheduled. MLK Holiday Pickup Schedule The Highway and Sanitation Departments will be closed on Monday January 15, 2024 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no trash or recycling pickups on that day. The Recycling will have to be held for pick up on the following Monday, January 22, 2024.
